The JaggerSpun Zephyr Wool-Silk yarn line truly stands apart from all others. These are beautiful yarns, with a unique combination of natural fibers that provides their lightweight and lustrous characteristics. Equal percentages of fine merino wool and Chinese tussah silk are joined to create a truly elegant yarn. The resulting garments have a lovely sheen and a beautiful drape.
Even though the care instructions for this yarn specify that it can be hand-washed and laid flat to dry, dry cleaning the finished garments is recommended because of the silk content – especially for the brighter colors to avoid bleeding.
Here's a useful fact that you might want to consider: it takes on average about one (1) cone of yarn to make a sweater. Compare the cost-effectiveness of working straight from cones for your projects. You will avoid dealing with "joins" and your work will be much faster and more fluid.

We offer wholesale pricing whenever you purchase four (4) or more cones of any of the JaggerSpun cone yarns, regardless of yarn line and/or color combination.
One of the hallmarks of the yarns manufactured by JaggerSpun and Jagger Brothers is their unsurpassed textural and color consistencies – accompanied by the fact that their yarns have a very low occurrence of knots when compared to yarns available through other manufacturers. The Zephyr line has these characteristics, thus offering knitters an incredible amount of versatility when knitting using 2, 3, or more strands together straight out of the balls or cones purchased: the results appear as though the original yarn had been spun using these “plies” to begin with. Knit or crochet combining different color plies to obtain special effects. Combine using yarns from our other lines for trims and many other special effects.
The Zephyr DK 4/8 weight yarns can be used in any pattern calling for worsted weight or DK weight knitting. The average gauge for this yarn is 5 stitches per inch on US Size 7 needles. If you need help adapting a pattern, feel free to contact us. We will help you adapt your pattern at no extra charge.
When knitting 2 or more strands together, this yarn can be successfully used for Bulky/Chunky projects.
To help you determine your gauge so that you can adapt your pattern, we offer this yarn in 2-oz pre-wound balls, and in custom-sized balls in 2-oz increments so that you can work continuously and avoid joins.

If you are interested in dying, the best color to use in the Zephyr line is the “White” color because it only goes through a preliminary bleaching process and no further dying, thus rendering your results more predictable.
If you want to make a swatch to determine your gauge before ordering the correct amount of yarn for your project, or don't need a full cone of yarn, we offer this yarn in small and/or custom quantities.
