Knitting Patterns For DK and Worsted Weight Yarns

These patterns will work with thicker gauge yarns, approximately 4 to 5 stitches per inch on US 4 to 8 needles. Please check pattern requirements carefully.

Compass Rose Comforts Scarf and Hat This traditional two-colour pattern is from the North Atlantic seaboard, often found in traditional knit mittens. The compass rose map symbol has been used by mariners for centuries to determine direction and winds. When the cold north winds blow your way, keep warm in this combination of Compass Rose and Sailor's Rib patterning.
Fans with Flair Scarf and Hand Warmers This pattern adapts the Shetland Feather and Fan lace stitch pattern, incorporating the well known fan shape in both the scarf and hand warmers. The larger 'fans' on the beginning and ending borders of the scarf create a feminine flare. This pattern is written for Lace, Fingering, DK (Double Knitting) and Worsted Weight yarns.
Scottish Diamond Gloves This unusual glove pattern was inspired by the historical patterns for Sanquhar gloves. Their distinctive features are the fine block motif that is repeated throughout the glove, the initials section on the inside of the cuff, gussets between the fingers, and two-color ribbing.
Diamonds In Squares Scarf and Hand Warmers Scarf and Hand Warmers feature two-color patterns from traditional designs found in Sanquhar gloves. Knit in dark and light colors, the distinctive Sanquhar patterning creates a striking look. The textured purl patterns echo the squares and diamonds so often prevalent in Sanquhar knitted works.
Carefree Carefree is an easy to wear cables and rib design —you’ll find yourself reaching for it often. The pullover is knit in the round from the bottom edge to the armholes. Then the front and back are worked separately. The sleeves are knit back and forth from the cuff. A ribbed collar is added at the end.
One-Ball Warmers These little one-ball neck warmers make perfect gifts. In each case only one two (2) oz ball of yarn is required, so they are inexpensive and quick to knit. The variety of styles offered will keep your knitting interesting, and you could easily create a whole wardrobe of them.
Luscious Vest This luscious vest will add style when you need that extra bit of warmth. The vest is worked in one piece from bottom edge to armholes, where it is divided for fronts and back. Gentle A-line shaping from hips through waist is accomplished with different needle sizes.
Diamond Lace Drops Cardigan This pretty cardigan is gently shaped at the waist for a flattering fit. The pretty lace detail adds to the flared effect at the bottom edge and sleeves.
Genevieve Pullover Vest Genevieve, an elegant pullover vest with drop shoulders and small cap sleeves, is worked in a rich overall lace and texture pattern. The asymmetrical collar adds a stylish note. Front and Back are knit separately with charts provided for shaping at the front neck. Sleeve caps are picked up and worked in the round, then the collar is worked back and forth, using larger needle sizes as you go to flare the collar.
Grace Laced with grace, this feminine pullover features a generous lace rib at the waist and cuffs, with a very pretty “leaf” lace pattern for the body. The deep “V” neck is also worked in lace rib.  This figure-flattering top looks lovely over a pretty camisole. Advanced intermediate knitters.
Minuette The graceful Minuette design flows softly over the body and it is enhanced with an elegant lace peplum, cuffs and neckline. The 3/4-length sleeves and gently fitted waist add to the feminine appeal. Intermediate knitterns
Rhapsody Rhapsody is an A-line cardigan that flares gently below the waist for a flattering shape. Fair Isle accents on the sleeves and the graceful shawl collar add decorative touches. Overlapping in front, it can be closed with a pretty brooch or stick-pin. Intermediate knitters.
Sporty Vest Pattern This sporty vest is knit in an easy slip-stitch pattern, which gives it color and textural interest. The zippered front adds a clean, fresh look.
